What are these stances?

While you don't have any direct control over your mercenary, you can set their overall behavior by setting their "stance." Higher rank mercenaries have more stances available than lower rank mercenaries.

For a healer mercenary the possible stances are:

  • Efficient: Chooses heals based mostly on mana efficiency (might even let you die). Designed to be used in groups with other damage mitigation sources.
  • Reactive: Chooses heals based mostly on damage rate. Less likely to let you die, but more likely to run out of mana before the combat is over.
  • Balanced: Supposed to be a good mix of efficient & reactive
  • Passive - does nothing and will happily let you die

For a melee mercenary the possible stances are:

  • Aggressive - goes on the offensive and will attack all mobs on your aggro and will break mez or even try to offtank rooted adds.
  • Assist - primarily remains defensive and will assist whoever is set as main tank
  • Passive - does nothing and will happily let you die

Stances are set by chosing the desired stance in the Mercenary UI window or by the "/stance" command:

/stance reactive
/stance passive
