The last two patched have introduced a large number of changes to the Alternate Abilities and there are bound to be at least some minor changes (tweaks and bug fixes) still to come. Also there will most likely be more changes and additions once the new expansion gets released. Because of this and because of the amount of work involved in changing so many pages it will take some time before all the changed information gets reflected on this site. You patience is appreciated during this time.

- Romen, Magician

A lot more Alternate Ability changes in this patch - see highlights in the following patch notes for magician-specific changes. Also note that you are limited to only having 2 times your level of banked AAs. If you have more than 3 times your level when you logout you will be prompted (this probably only affects someone who hasn't played since the 2 times limit went into effect).

Are Kronos Bad For EQ?

I know this isn't supposed to be a blog, and I don't normally post something like this, but if you played EQ in the past and are playing it today you no doubt have seen that things have gotten a bit out of hand. This seems to be especially true on the progression servers, such as Agnarr.

The amount of kill-steal, camp hogging/stealing, and just general griefing has reached ridiculous levels. Need a drop for your epic or some other quest, or a piece of great gear? Chances are the spot is either perma-camped or you will get KS'ed by someone.

Today's update does not have any magician-specific changes. Most of it seems to be bug fixes, some user interface fixes/changes and general cleanup. Full patch notes follow:

A lot of updated information has been added to the Classic EQ section of the site including some improved spell information. I know there hasn't been much done on the site for the past year or so, but personal issues have kept me from doing much.

Daybreak's Russell Shanks has published a letter on the EverQuest Next site that announces the sad news that the game has been cancelled. Here is his letter:

To Our Daybreak Community,

I’m writing today to let you know that, after much review and consideration, Daybreak is discontinuing development of EverQuest Next.

There are many updates to the Alternate Ability descriptions to account for all the changes over the past few months. Much work still remains, especially in updating the tables and verifying the information. At leat now all the merged abilities, and new abilities, should be in place.

A lot of fixes again relating to the expansion, but of particular note is there have been changes to the taunt mechanics which will affect our pets. Full patch notes follow:
